The Faculty of Medicine became operational on October 1st, 1997 as one of the first Faculties of the College offering three unique programmes of which aim at producing bio-medical personnel equipped with necessary skills and competencies in health laboratory sciences

Mission Statement

The mission of the Faculty is to provide in Tanzania a place of learning, education and research in Health Sciences and through these provide service of a quality required and expected of a University Institution of the highest standard.

Objectives of the Faculty of Medicine

  • To produce medical graduates with knowledge and skills in the field of Medicine at undergraduate, postgraduate and super specialty levels.
  • To provide consultancy services to government, Non-Governmental Organizations, other institutions and individuals.
  • To provide continuing medical education to health workers
  • To carry out research in order to advance medical knowledge and science for the benefit of human welfare.

General Admission Requirements

All courses are taught in English. Therefore it is imperative that students are proficient in reading, writting and speaking Englis. It is upon the canidate to satisfy oneself that he/she meets this important requirment and provides evidence therefore (eg Tofel iBT score of 65 and above or equivalent ) registering for any course at this college.
