Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine
The KCMUCo was the first medical institution in Tanzania to organize and develop an independent Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FRM) in 1999 after identifying the need for education and hospital-based research related to people with disabilities by establishing a department of Prosthetics and orthotics. In 2000, two more departments were established: Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Today, FRM has more than 26 academic staff in the different rehabilitation disciplines. The FRM is nationally, regionally, and internationally recognized as a leader in advancing the subspecialties of rehabilitation professions. Our rehabilitation specialists have received national and international recognition for excellence and have lead world-class organizations such as ISPO
